Hundreds of years of historical use together with evidence coming from modern science provides us with innumerable ways to potentially benefit from using Magnesium both topically and internally. The purpose of this information is to report some of the known benefits and should not be used as medical advice. The reader is left to his or her own conclusions as to how and when to use FreeMart PureMag.
Magnesium the Master Mineral
Magnesium is called the Master Mineral because it is essential to life, found in every living cell and is required for every physiological process that goes on in our bodies. It is as necessary to life as oxygen and water. When you run out of magnesium, your heart goes into spasm (heart attack) and you simply die. Within the last fifty years, research indicates that approximately eight million people have died from heart failure, due to a lack of magnesium alone.
Magnesium works in partnership with calcium and boron in many physiological functions including nervous and cardiovascular processes and bone-building.
Magnesium plays a vital role in the contraction and relaxation of muscles, including skeletal muscles, as well as those of the gastrointestinal tract, and muscles regulating blood flow, blood pressure and breathing passages.
Mental and emotional functions require adequate magnesium for neurotransmitter and hormone production. Magnesium is also essential for making new cells, activating B vitamins, clotting blood and secretion of insulin.
Magnesium is essential for the production and utilization of ATP (our energy currency) and perhaps the two biggest symptoms of Magnesium deficiency are fatigue and weakness.
In conventional medical circles, Magnesium deficiency is considered rare, however Magnesium deficiency has become widespread due poor diets and decades of mineral depleting farming practices. Official figures show that up to 72% of women and 42% of men receive less then the daily recommended level of magnesium, but in reality, almost all Americans are deficient in the most needed of all minerals, Magnesium.
Your doctor may order a magnesium test if you have diabetes, kidney trouble, low blood levels of calcium or potassium, muscle weakness, twitching, cramping, confusion, cardiac arrhythmia, seizures, muscle spasms and tremors (shakes that you cannot control).
Things that deplete magnesium levels in your body are kidney problems, drinking alcohol, taking certain medicines, celiac disease and chronic digestive problems.
Low magnesium can weaken your bones, cause severe headaches, make you feel nervous and damage your heart. It can also lead to low levels of other important minerals like calcium and potassium.
If your doctor says that your magnesium levels are too high, he or she is probably either mistaken, or you are getting the wrong isoform of magnesium in your diet and it is making you sick.
Magnesium Deficiency Symptoms
- ADD and ADHD
- Alzheimer’s / Dementia
- Bone weakness
- Hypertension / High blood pressure
- Joint and muscle inflammation, pain and stiffness
- Muscle weakness, cramps and twitches
- Panic attacks
- Poor circulation
- Skin Disorders
- Sleep Disorders
Magnesium deficiency symptoms have three categories
- Early symptoms include irritability, anorexia, fatigue, insomnia, and muscle twitching. Other symptoms include poor memory, apathy, confusion, and reduced ability to learn.
- Moderate deficiency symptoms consist of rapid heartbeat and other cardiovascular changes.
- Severe deficiency symptoms could lead to tingling, numbness, and a sustained contraction of the muscles, along with hallucinations and delirium.
Modern commercial fertilizers do not routinely replace Magnesium, so it becomes depleted growing the green leafy vegetables that like to extract magnesium from the soil and make it available for us to eat. Because Magnesium is highly soluble, the Magnesium that does appear in foods is often removed in any form of commercial processing.
Finding the Right Magnesium
Many Magnesium supplements are the wrong isoform of the Magnesium and they may do your body more harm than good. When taking brands other than FreeMart PureMag, you will likely require a minimum of 400-600 mg. Furthermore, you will need to take hydrochloric acid at the same time in order to absorb the Magnesium. And if you do that, you are almost sure to get diarrhea as a result.
Side effects from taking FreeMart Magnesium are extremely unlikely and it is absorbed better than any other isoform of Magnesium we have found and it can be used for both oral and topical applications.
An important point about Magnesium is that it promotes bowel motility. If you take “too much” Magnesium, you can get cramping and diarrhea. Any dose that causes loose bowels is too high and when magnesium acts as a laxative, you are not absorbing the magnesium internally.
Magnesium is often combined with calcium, because Calcium constipates, which counteracts the moving effect of Magnesium when it comes to bowel activity. Most people already have enough Calcium and taking Calcium supplements can reduce Magnesium levels, which then leads to osteoporosis, arthritis and other painful symptoms.
Most people are low in Magnesium, but taking the right kind of Magnesium is very important. FreeMart PureMag contains the most absorbable form of Magnesium that will even cross the blood-brain barrier and get to all parts of your body and because your body is absorbing the available Magnesium, a much smaller intake of FreeMart PureMag as compared to other brands, may actually result in more magnesium being available to your cells.
A typical recommended daily dose of Magnesium is somewhere between 3 and 10 mg per pound of body weight. This figure however is based upon the very low absorption rate of most Magnesium supplements.
Other important absorption points are that iron interferes with the absorption of Magnesium, so they shouldn’t be taken together. Digestive challenges interfere with mineral absorption, so addressing irritable bowel or indigestion may be necessary to achieve full benefit from magnesium supplementation.
The color of our mineral solutions can and do change with time and here is why.
We do not add any chemicals or color at all to any of our products.
White light hits the particles of Magnesium in suspension, but not all of the wave lengths are absorbed; the ones that are not absorbed are reflected back as the color one sees. What is absorbed or reflected back is determined by the size and the concentration of the Magnesium particles.
Other manufacturers add stabilizing chemicals to their mineral solutions to prevent them from conglomerating together, thus causing a different color. We do not add stabilizing chemicals in order to maintain purity.
The tendency for Magnesium particles to conglomerate increases as the concentration increases. FreeMart PureMag is at 50,000 PPM, which is slightly above saturation point, which will cause a small amount of Magnesium to show up on the bottom of the bottle.
FreeMart PureMag will not be clear like most liquid Magnesium products due to the extreme concentration of this product. Regardless of the color, the Magnesium particles are 100% safe because they are 98+% pure to begin with and are suspended in pure pharmaceutical grade water.
The products that one should be suspicious of are the ones that are too stable and one should ask what chemical has been added to provide this stability. The fact that we do not have a chemical stabilizer in our mineral solutions is evidenced by the fact that it can, and does, change color over time. Nevertheless, it remains 100% safe and effective.
Suggested Usage For maintenance
Adults take 40 drops under the tongue or mix with a small amount of Free-Mart Water (mixed) to be gargled or swished in the mouth for approximately six minutes before swallowing.
Children 4+ years use 10 drops in the same manner.
Younger children 1-2 drops in the mouth.
FreeMart PureMag may also be applied topically and through absorption directly into the skin may go more directly to muscles and tissues that are experiencing pain, cramping or discomfort due to lack of Magnesium.
Note: Tapping the Magnesium container 9x on the palm of the hand each time before using may increase viability. This is known as percussion in homeopathy.
Ingredients: Free-Mart PureMag Concentrate is our trademarked brand consisting of 98+% pure Magnesium L Threonate dispersed and suspended in pure, pharmaceutical grade water.
